Today the Weather Channel gave a freezing temperature alert for 1am to 9am via their phone app. When you look at this picture one main reason for the alert is the lack of cloud cover. Without the clouds the heat radiates off the earth and into space. The clouds act as a blanket during the night when the Sun is not out to give us its rays of warmth.
