This morning the snow has stopped and given way to rain to create a thick level of slush that blankets the campus. This isnt helped by above freezing temperatures of 34. Barometer pressure still falling with 23mph easterly winds. Today is shaping out to be a drab day.

Winter Storm
10:30: 8mph SE winds, sky overcast, falling barometer and 31 degrees
10:45: first signs of snow 12:30: 9mph SE winds. Clouds to the east looked like cirrus and may have been distorted signifying a change in wind, but that may have been me being hopeful. Non continuous stratus clouds in the other directions At 2 oclock the wind speed was 23mph from the SE. Nimbostratus clouds covered the entire sky with very very few snow crystals forming. At 3:15 when I leaft class the wind died down to 8mph, but huge snow flakes are falling After the snow the warm air from the south must have overridden the cool air that the storm was using and turned the snow into rain. The wind direction also changed from SE to E. 7:30PM The easterly winds must of brought in some mP air as the rain has turned into snow again, except this snow isnt fluffy. The flakes are massive and when I picked up a handful of snow it was hard and icy. 11:40 PM. Online says we have freezing rain, but in actual theres little to no precipitation. Looking at metstation the radar shows a smaller group of clouds that look loaded with water heading our way. Over the course of the day the wind speed changed about 10 or so mph, the barometer plunged 30mb, and the form of precipitation changed several times from freezing rain to freezing snow.Sunday, February 26, 2012
Rather chill day in Kewaunee with a 20mph wind, wind chill 10 degrees from the S,which is pushing the clouds that cover the north half of the state out. Falling barometric pressure is indicating that the weather should become less pleasant but with the clouds being pushed out I should have decent weather for traveling back to Eau Claire tomorrow. To close on a netural note the moon is in its cresant phase.

When I went outside today I noticed that it was rather warm (32 degrees) and snowing, although Im not sure why. The dew point depression is 11, which I thought was fairly decent and the barometric pressure is increasing. It was not a heavy fall and did not last long, but as far as my knowledge as weather goes I just wasn't expecting any at all.

Weather project
This Image shows the density of water vapor in the atmosphere. The darker the clouds the more water vapor. This can be a handy image to predict rain because the more water vapor, the heavier the cloud, the greater chance for rain.
