Winter Storm

10:30: 8mph SE winds, sky overcast, falling barometer and 31 degrees

10:45: first signs of snow 12:30: 9mph SE winds. Clouds to the east looked like cirrus and may have been distorted signifying a change in wind, but that may have been me being hopeful. Non continuous stratus clouds in the other directions At 2 oclock the wind speed was 23mph from the SE. Nimbostratus clouds covered the entire sky with very very few snow crystals forming. At 3:15 when I leaft class the wind died down to 8mph, but huge snow flakes are falling After the snow the warm air from the south must have overridden the cool air that the storm was using and turned the snow into rain. The wind direction also changed from SE to E. 7:30PM The easterly winds must of brought in some mP air as the rain has turned into snow again, except this snow isnt fluffy. The flakes are massive and when I picked up a handful of snow it was hard and icy. 11:40 PM. Online says we have freezing rain, but in actual theres little to no precipitation. Looking at metstation the radar shows a smaller group of clouds that look loaded with water heading our way. Over the course of the day the wind speed changed about 10 or so mph, the barometer plunged 30mb, and the form of precipitation changed several times from freezing rain to freezing snow.
