
This is a picture I took with my cell phone early in the morning, around
8. Since I had a huge glare on my phone I didn't get a portion of the
fog that was above the bridge, but you can see some of it on the right
side of the picture. The type of fog shown here is evaporation fog that
occurs when cool air blows over warm water. Since water's temperature is
less volatile than the air's, and with a string of warm days this makes
sense. The warm water evaporates (hence the name) into the cold air.
Cold is unable to hold a lot of moisture, so the evaporating water
equalized the dew point with the temperature forming water droplets.
Thus fog over the river.
